Stone Veneer
Natural and manufactured stone fronts, installed to manufacturer specification with a proper drainage plane behind every wall.
Stone veneer is a thin stone facing — natural cut or manufactured concrete — adhered to a properly prepared substrate. Done right, it reads like a structural stone wall and lasts as long as the building behind it. Done wrong, it falls off in five years.
Our stone work always starts with a drainage plane and a weep system. We use a sheet membrane, metal lath, a scratch coat, and a setting bed. Every project gets either a hand-set fieldstone, a dry-stack ledge, or a cut-coursed pattern — never a "stick it on and grout it" job.

Common questions.
The questions we hear most often on stone veneer estimates.
-
Natural stone vs manufactured stone — which should I choose?
Natural stone is cut from real quarried rock — heavier, more variation, higher cost, longest-running aesthetic. Manufactured stone (Cultured Stone, Eldorado, etc.) is high-density concrete cast in moulds — lighter, cheaper, more uniform, very durable. We work in both; selection comes down to the design and the budget.
-
Will stone veneer fall off?
Properly installed stone veneer does not fall off. The failures you see are almost always missing weather barrier, missing lath, missing scratch coat, or stone set into mortar that was the wrong mix. Our process exists specifically to prevent this.
-
Does stone veneer need maintenance?
Sealing every 5–7 years on porous natural stone (limestone, sandstone). Manufactured stone does not require sealing in most applications. Joint inspection annually — any tooled mortar joint can develop hairline gaps that benefit from touch-up.
-
Can stone be combined with stucco, ACM, or wood?
Yes — and we encourage it. Mixed-material exteriors (stone base + stucco above, or stone accent walls with ACM panels) carry well on contemporary builds. The trick is matching the substrate prep across materials so the wall behaves consistently.
